Three Parameters In a One-Inch-Diameter Ground Water Probe

The CTD-Diver instrument available from Bell Flow Systems offers a way of measuring and registering groundwater level, groundwater temperature and groundwater conductivity with a single instrument, all by using a device that fits into a one-inch probe!

Monitoring groundwater levels and saltwater intrusion, injected wastewater, or contamination from chemical discharges and landfill sites used to be a labour intensive, difficult job. This is no longer the case, however, due to the introduction of the CTD-Diver.

The CTD-Diver is an accurate measuring instrument with 3 sensors: a pressure transducer for determining water level, a temperature sensor for measuring temperature, and a sensor for determining conductivity. Conductivity is especially important for indicating pollutants in groundwater. The CTD-Diver is available in three standard pressure measuring ranges (10, 50 and 100-metre heads) conductivity measuring range 0 to 120 mS/cm).

The measurements taken are stored in a memory large enough to hold 16,000 recordings made for each of the three parameters.

The CTD-Diver is built into a rugged and completely sealed Ceramic housing that practically eliminates the chance of damage or corrosion. Since the measuring system is invisible above ground level, the risk of vandalism is minimal. Unlike many other systems, the CTD-Diver needs no ventilated cable running to the surface. Due to the fact that the system is entirely encased, moisture cannot reach penetrate inside the unit. The battery has a life expectancy of 8 to 10 years! All of these characteristics make the CTD-Diver extremely reliable and easy to maintain.

Data download can be undertaken by connecting directly or placing the Diver in a read-out unit. An infrared signal sends stored information to the read-out unit that is connected to a portable computer. Diver-Mate or Diver-Office User-friendly software processes the data and can export the results directly to a spreadsheet program if desired. Connection to e-SENSE GSM/GPRS network is also possible

The CTD-Diver is programmed by the read-out unit to set up such settings as the starting time, the location code and the measuring frequency. The CTD-Diver can also be programmed to take measurements when triggered by events.  In the case of conductivity, for example, the only times when data will be stored will be when the Diver detects changes in conductivity levels. This way, changes occurring in the groundwater can be followed in detail and completely independently of the time that they occur.

Ori Waste Water Sampler Evolution

The new generation of the ORI Basic Solid® sampler is now available with a new enclosure concept which has been developed to make operation more efficient and also to ensure that maintenance and cleaning activities are much easier.

In addition to new air grills on the sides and a removable roof plate, the front panel can now be opened like a door which enables easy access to the electronics compartment.

The Basic solid sampler is now equipped with a direct distributor system, ensuring that the route from intake point to the sampling bottle is a complete enclosed circuit

  • The Direct distributor system minimizes sample contamination errors as the sampled medium only has wet contact with the inert tubing material of the pump
  • The pump module and components are protected from aggressive media and gases, avoiding problems of corrosion and material leaching.
  • Largely clog-free design means that even sludge can be completely transferred through the sampling line to the bottle, ensuring that this model is now also suitable for operation at the inlet of a sewage waste water treatment plant.
  • Easy to clean - the standard cleaning program of the Basic solid is an automated process which rinses the complete suction tube from the sampling bottle to the suction point. Only the direct distributor suction tube has to be manually removed and rinsed in a container with clean water. The internal cleaning program is auto initiated and after about 10 minutes is complete.

APG PG2 Digital Pressure Gauge

APG have introduced a new digital pressure gauge, the series PG2 IP65 Digital Pressure Gauge. The Plum MacR6 Data Logger

The Plum MacR6 is an intelligent readout and data logger range with built-in telemetry module offering simple installation and device configuration. MacR6 is available as a liquid or gas solution, registering flow and pressure with temperature option.

When connected to the secure cloud based platform, eWebTel, the user is able to download and view all of the information from the device including historical data and graphs, allowing information to be accessed securely from any remote location 24/7.
The MacR6 data logger benefits from a battery lifetime of 5-10 years dependent on settings and usage. The IP68 rated water network models record flow and pressure, while the ATEX gas flow measurement versions record P,T,Q, both available with Bluetooth local data retrieval and a choice of local or remote antenna.

Piusi Fuel Management System, Re-purposed!

Bell Flow Systems were contracted to supply a dispensing management system to be used with water. The application called for a solution to allow registered users only, to dispense water from a large storage tank for window washing purposes and for the manager to monitor and control the amount of water they were using.

We supplied a high accuracy Badger Meter Recordall water meter with pulse output connected to a Piusi MC Box fuel management system. The Piusi management system allows registered users to access the system with a unique pin code or key fob to activate the pump and deliver controlled batches of water from the tank. The device is equipped with a dual display, keypad and i-button key reader. The Recordall water meter is a positive displacement meter which accurately measures the quantity of water dispensed.

The MC Box can be used with the Self Service management 2.0 software which allows the manager to download data from the MC Box device to the software to view and monitor the user’s usage of water.

Designed for fuel management, but ideal for water !

AquaLink II Cost-effective Data Logging Device

AquaLink II is a telemetry device with a built in data logger that is designed to allow the user to access data remotely on the web. This cost effective monitoring system benefits from being battery powered with a lifetime of 6 years.

Designed to be connected to various sensors and instruments for the measurement of total flow, pressure and temperature as well as other measured values, the Aqualink system transmits data over WiFi or GPRS / GSM to a cloud based M2M monitoring platform.
