Borehole Application Controlling Water Abstraction

Image
Bell Flow Systems were recently approached by a customer who operated five boreholes and was limited by license to the volume of water he could draw from each borehole on a daily basis. A system was required to ensure automatic compliance with the abstraction agreement in place. We provided a solution to measure the water flow and then to close a valve when the maximum allowed volume was reached from each borehole in a Twenty Four hour period. The systems was designed to automatically start the process over again each day. Our Multi-jet water meters equipped with pulse output were installed in-line with a quality solenoid valve as well as F117 Fluidwell digital display monitors, which measure the volume of water then trigger the solenoid valve to close once the operator configured amount is reached. We incorporated 24hr timers into the system to ensure that daily allowances were controlled accordingly. The BETA multi-jet water meters are WRAS approved and MID certified featuri

Qalcosonic Heat Meters For Heating and Cooling Measurement

We have recently commissioned a large number of Qalcosonic Heat 1 meters installed within interesting micro apartments. The Heat meters were supplied to metering and monitoring specialists in order to evaluate the thermal heat energy used within this cutting edge accommodation located in the city of London. The client required MID approved ultrasonic heat meters which could deal with fluctuating temperatures and offer good Ingress protection and specific Mbus data comms Qalcosonic heat meters are MID class 2 approved and provide combined heating and cooling measurement capability. The 8-digit LCD display shows information on the total volume, current flow rate as well as historical data. The range offers a variety of signal outputs and communication options including M-Bus, Modbus or wireless wMbus radio link interfaces. Models are available for hot and cold water applications with changeover facility and come in sizes from DN15 to DN100.

*Product of the Month* Blancett Turbine Meter

Image
The QuikSert turbine flow meter range from Blancett are designed for accurate measurement of various liquids such as water, chemicals and light oils. This wafer style meter is quickly inserted between pipeline flanges and performs well in harsh environments due to it's rugged stainless steel construction and selection of safe and hazardous area displays. Incorporated inside the turbine meter is a helical rotor with long-life tungsten carbide shaft and bearings. This cost effective meter consists of a simple and easily serviceable design, providing an efficient long life time with low ownership costs. The range features optional LCD flow monitors such as the B2800 or B3000 with EEx ia or EEx D certification options. Models benefit from a high accuracy reading of +/- 1.0% and are available from sizes 3/8" up to 10" . The meters in this range have an operating temperature from -100 to 177°C

Tough Mudder South West 2016

Image
Last weekend a few of the team at Bell Flow Systems participated in a Tough Mudder challenge in order to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity. The course consisted of a 10 mile run with 24 challenging obstacles through-out. All of the Bell Flow participants managed to finish the course with the help of team work. Well done everyone! TFX Ultrasonic Flow Meter By Dynasonics

Image
The TFX Ultra is a compact ultrasonic flow meter that clamps onto the outside of pipes and does not contact the internal liquid. The technology has inherent advantages over alternate devices including: low-cost installation, no pressure head loss, no moving parts to maintain or replace, no fluid compatibility issue, and a large, bi-directional measuring range that ensures reliable readings even at very low and high flow rates. Models benefit from being able to measure clean liquids as well as those that contain small amounts of suspended solids such as surface water and sewage. The meter features a large, easy-to-read digital display which shows the flow rate and totals. The TFX Ultra is available in a variety of configurations that permit the user to select a meter with features suitable to meet particular application requirements. Available in sizes DN12 to DN3800, the rugged meter is ATEX approved for hazardous areas. TFX Ultra connections include BACnet/IP, EtherNet/IP, and Mod

Dynasonics - DXN Helps Keep Train Performance On Track

Image
Bell Flow Systems were recently asked by a well regarded UK train operating company to supply non-invasive flow meter equipment that could easily be installed to carry out short term tests of oil flows on a number of trains in their fleet. The client selected our DXN flow meter as it is easily clamped onto the outside of the pipe therefore avoiding the task of breaking the pipework to install a traditional in-line solution. DXN uses ultrasonic technology to gather accurate results 'non-intrusively', which does not require the trains systems to be turned off, which ensures rolling stock down-time is cut to a minimum. Measurement of flow is taken using a pair of clamp-on non-invasive ultrasonic sensors which take over 100 readings per second. The DXN meter benefits from a number of advanced features including a touchscreen interface, wizard-based start-up configuration, USB connectivity and Modbus TCP/IP connectivity. The DXN portable ultrasonic flow meter from Dynasonic
